100 Chinese Lantern Seeds (Physalis alkenkegi franchetti) The Chinese lantern, also called caged love, is a hardy perennial that is easy to grow.

The orange membrane, resembling a lantern, surrounds the small edible berries and takes on all its splendor in autumn. Essential in dry bouquets, the fruit, fleshy and juicy, is edible when ripe. Exceptionally rich in vitamin A, B and C, acid, it is however far from having the delicious taste of Peruvian cockerel.

A deciduous perennial, love-en-cage is very easy to grow, in any type of soil, even in a pot.
