UHC filters allow emission lines from nebulae to pass through and block out a large amount of light pollution from artificial outdoor light. The filter darkens the sky background and improves the contrast of the image.
Color planetary filters are available in five colors: red, orange, yellow, green, and blue. Red: Highlights Mercury and Venus from the blue sky during the day.
