The latest installment in the high-speed detective action "Danganronpa" series, in which you refute your opponent's contradictions in a class trial and uncover the culprit of a murder case. This work features a completely new setting and characters compared to previous works. Enhanced visuals and direction based on the theme of "psycho cool" will add excitement to the new story that unfolds at a new school. The game features a number of new systems, including the new element of "deliberately lying" to gain an advantage in court, and a "discussion scrum" where players are split into two teams and clash with each other over their opinions. The story is set at Gifted Prisoner Academy. This school has a slightly different atmosphere from Hope's Peak Academy, with classrooms covered in green ivy on the walls and ceilings, and a hotel that doesn't look like a school facility at all.
