Vibrofiltr Wave 15 - Sound-absorbing Foam

Vibrofiltr Wave 15 – Soft Sound-Absorbing Foam Mat 7/15 mm

Vibrofiltr Wave 15 is a high-quality, self-adhesive foam mat for noise absorption, resonance reduction, and silencing of car upholstery elements. The material is made of high-density foamed polyurethane, with a combination of open and closed cells.

The gentle wave profiling increases the material's working surface. This allows the mat to effectively absorb sound in the mid- and high-frequency range. It is most effective above 1200 Hz, i.e., for humming, whistling, and sounds originating behind upholstery elements.

Soft Memory Foam

Vibrofiltr Wave 15 has a very soft and flexible structure. When compressed, it slowly returns to its original shape, so it adapts well to the free space between upholstery and body elements. The material expands with little force, so it does not aggressively push out the plastics or sides.

This means that the mat not only absorbs noise, but also acts as a shock-absorbing spacer. Reduces rubbing of adjacent surfaces, reduces buzzing, creaking, crackling and resonance of plastic car interior elements.

The most important advantages of Vibrofiltr Wave 15

• Self-adhesive foam mat with a 7/15 mm wave profile,

• Very soft and flexible structure,

• High-density polyurethane foam,

• Combination of open and closed cells,

• Slowed return to shape,

• Effective noise absorption in the mid- and high-frequency range,

• Best efficiency above 1200 Hz,

• Sound absorption up to 80%,

• Starts to absorb sound from around 250 Hz,

• Reduces noise, whistling, buzzing, crackling and upholstery resonance,

• can act as light thermal insulation in dry places,

• price is for 1 sheet 50 x 50 cm.

Use in the car

The Wave 15 vibrofilter is primarily intended for installation inside the vehicle, behind the upholstery and headliner elements. It works best in dry places that are not directly exposed to water.

The material can be used, among others:

• on the rear surface of the door panels,

• on the pillars,

• on the roof under the headliner,

• behind the dashboard,

• on the engine bulkhead on the cabin side,

• on the rear inner wheel arches,

• behind the trunk panels,

• in the spaces near the rear fenders,

• between the upholstery and body elements.

Not an ordinary technical sponge

The Wave 15 Vibrofiltr is not a standard acoustic sponge or the popular low-density technical sponge. This is a specialized foam mat for automotive applications that combines sound absorption with the function of a soft anti-resonance spacer.

This material works well where regular sponge may be too elastic, ineffective, or poorly adapted to the upholstery.

How to install the Vibrofiltr Wave 15?

Before installation, the surface should be clean, dry, and degreased. The mat should be applied in hidden areas, behind the upholstery, headliner, or covers. The material adapts well to flat surfaces and more complex shapes.

The foam has no additional impregnation and absorbs liquids when wet. Therefore, it should not be installed in areas exposed to direct contact with water. For wet areas of doors or the outer chamber, choose a moisture-resistant material.
