The chimney cowl, the so-called pot, is a device to support the smoke draft. It is used as the end of chimney outlets and uses gravity to work. Thanks to its construction, it is always "upwind" and, in addition to improving the smoke draft, it prevents the wind from getting into the chimney, thus extinguishing the hearth. The top of the cowl and the specially-profiled swirling dome have an influence on the windward nature of the twist, which means that the dome is always self-set "upwind" - regardless of the direction and type of wind. The rotor is mounted on sliding bearings, made of Teflon, operating in oil.
