Ultra-compact, ultra-easy to use, yet delivers high-quality sound! HDMI (ARC) compatible with power and volume control synchronization.
Don't compare it to just any HDMI audio converter!
Designed with sound quality as a priority for audio equipment, please don't compare it to cheap, simple HDMI audio converters!
With the increasing prevalence of devices equipped with HDMI (ARC) output, such as TVs, there's a growing demand for "easily connecting to existing audio equipment and enjoying high-quality sound using HDMI (ARC) output." This product was developed with three concepts in mind: "small and compact," "easy to use," and "high-quality sound." It's a D/A converter specifically for HDMI (ARC) input.
By connecting to the HDMI (ARC) output terminal of a TV or other device via an HDMI cable, and then connecting the output to your existing audio system (audio amplifier, amplifier-equipped speakers, etc.), you can enjoy high-quality sound designed as an audio product.
Power ON/OFF and output volume settings are synchronized with the HDMI output device, allowing for convenient use in conjunction with the remote control of the connected device.
The power supply is also simple, as it comes with a USB power cable and only requires connection to a USB adapter or an available port on the connected device.
It can be used compactly and conveniently, drawing power from commonly used AC-USB adapters for mobile phone chargers or USB ports on TVs.
This product is a compact D/A converter compatible with high-resolution audio sources (24-bit/192kHz), employing an ESS Technology ES9018K2M DAC IC and featuring an HDMI (ARC dedicated) input terminal.
By limiting the input and output interfaces to the bare minimum, it achieves both extreme miniaturization and sufficient high sound quality for an audio product.
In particular, it can be conveniently used as an HDMI (ARC) digital-to-analog converter (HDMI input → RCA stereo output) to convert the HDMI (ARC) output of TVs, etc., to high-quality analog, connecting to your existing audio system.
While recent TVs can play YouTube and other web streaming services, the sound quality of the TV's built-in speakers may be unsatisfactory or inadequate for playing artist music videos or movies. If your TV has an HDMI (ARC) output, you can connect it to your audio equipment via the "HAC-03J" to enjoy a more powerful sound in a better audio environment.
In recent years, with the popularity of soundbars, it has become common to use the HDMI (ARC) output of a TV to connect to a soundbar. However, in most cases, soundbars do not have audio output terminals.
Even in situations where a soundbar is insufficient for serious audio playback, the "HAC-03J" allows you to connect to your existing audio system, and also expands the range of system changes and upgrades according to your budget and circumstances.
[What is HDMI ARC?]
HDMI's ARC (Audio Return Channel) function refers to a function that connects the ARC output terminal of a compatible device such as a TV to audio equipment with a single HDMI cable, allowing the audio equipment to automatically synchronize with the TV's (remote control) operation.
To use this function, both connected devices must be ARC compatible, and the function must be enabled in the device settings. * Example) When connected to a TV's HDMI (ARC) output terminal:
Power synchronization: When the TV is turned on, it automatically turns on, and conversely, when the TV is turned off, it automatically turns off.
Volume adjustment synchronization: When the volume is adjusted with the TV remote control, the output volume is also adjusted accordingly.
[Main IC Specifications]
■DAC IC: ESS Technology ES9018K2M
High-end audio DAC IC
Dynamic range: 127dB
THD+N: -120dB
■Differential conversion operational amplifier: Texas Instruments "NE5532" (DIP)
[Notes]
* The HDMI input terminal is an ARC-only terminal. It cannot be used with devices or terminals other than ARC-compatible ones.
* The USB terminal is a power supply terminal only. It cannot be used as a USB-connected DAC.
* The only supported format is PCM format (stereo 2ch).
* If the output device has an audio output setting, please set it to "PCM fixed output". *Please set the audio output destination on the output device to an HDMI (ARC) output destination such as "External Speakers".
*Since the ARC function relies on the HDMI CEC function, we cannot absolutely guarantee that it will work in conjunction with all devices.
