Fine Molds 1/48 Imperial Navy Zero A6M52 Carrier-Based Fighter Model 52A (Mitsubishi) Plastic Model FZ03. The A6M52 Carrier-Based Fighter Model 52A (commonly known as the Zero Type 52A) features an increased ammunition capacity for the Zero Type 52's 20mm machine gun. The original Model 52's wing-mounted Type 99 20mm No. 2 Model 3 machine gun held 100 rounds of ammunition per drum magazine. However, the Model 52A was modified to use the belt-fed Type 4, which held 125 rounds of ammunition. The updated 20mm machine guns were mounted forward, and a trapezoidal cover was added to the base of the gun protrusion on the leading edge of the wing. The original Model 52 featured a teardrop-shaped bulge under the wing to accommodate drum magazines, but this bulge was eliminated on the Model 52A due to the belt-fed system. Furthermore, all Mitsubishi-built Model 52A aircraft featured a short heat-resistant panel at the outlet of the thrust-type single exhaust pipe, a characteristic of Mitsubishi. This model meticulously recreates these differences using a new mold. This model, especially the Mitsubishi-made short heat-resistant panel, is the first to be featured in a 1/48-scale Zero fighter plastic model. The included decals feature the original 343rd and 221st Air Groups. The 343rd Air Group aircraft is currently housed at the JASDF Hamamatsu Public Relations Center. This is a plastic model that requires assembly and painting. Additional adhesives, tools, and paints are required for assembly and painting. * "Plastic model" is a registered trademark owned by the Japan Plastic Model Industrial Cooperative. * This product does not include adhesives, paints, tools, batteries, etc. * To enjoy plastic models safely, it is important to build them in a well-ventilated area, avoiding high temperatures, humidity, and direct sunlight.
