Salicylic acid dissolves in fats and alcohol, but is essentially insoluble in water (max 0.2 g/l). It is more gentle than AHA acids, with fewer side effects such as burning or excessive exfoliation. Recommended for oily, normal, and acne-prone skin. Action. Salicylic acid, thanks to its fat solubility, acts on the skin not only on the surface but also penetrates through the sebum layer into the skin's pores, unclogging them and cleansing blackheads. It has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal properties. It prevents the formation of blemishes, has a disinfecting effect on the skin, and stimulates regenerative processes.
