This product has been infused three times with raw lacquer (Kiu Urushi) sourced from trees. The tips are angled, making them easy to use without slipping, especially for noodles, and they have received positive feedback.
Crafted by artisans in a workshop in the mountains of Kiso, these rustic chopsticks are coated with lacquer on Kiso Hinoki.
Lacquer (Urushi) is a natural coating obtained from the lacquer tree. The characteristic of lacquer is that it fits comfortably from the fingertips to the whole hand when held. It has a warm, soft texture and is compatible with people. Lacquer gently and firmly supports you. The reason for this is not well understood, but it is likely a result of its natural properties.
