The Alpe Adria Cycle Path starts in Salzburg and stretches through the Alpine valleys all the way to the Adriatic Sea. First, you pass through the Salzach Valley with its lush, green pastures, then the Gasteinertal and the town of Bad Gastein, nestled high in the mountains, and thus ends the first stage - the Tauernschleuse Böckstein-Mallnitz.
After a train ride, descend into the Mölltal valley – passing through impressive high-altitude landscapes, you reach the sunny Drautal valley, with its towns of Spittal and Villach, both worth seeing. Beyond the Gailtal valley, you cross the border and finally reach the old railway line, high above the wildly rugged canal valley.
After a stretch along the Tagliamento and Cormor rivers, you reach the bustling city of Udine. From here you cross the plain towards the Adriatic Sea – through Palmanova and Aquileia.
The atlas highlights, among other things:
- network of roads and bicycle routes,
- railway network, railway stations,
- bicycle repair shops, bicycle parking lots,
- electric bicycle charging stations,
- places where you need to carry your bicycle,
- pharmacies, churches, parking lots,
- restaurants, hotels, campsites, information points,
- national parks, museums, airports.
The publication includes historical monuments, natural beauty, excursion destinations, and hiking trails. The atlas contains important information about the route (tourist attractions, accommodation, guesthouses, bicycle shops, tourist information).
