In the case of a damaged head gasket or head itself, some of the exhaust gases containing, among other things, CO2 enter the cooling system. The principle of the device is based on measuring the CO2 content in the cooling system.
The reaction fluid in the tester chamber will react with the gases from the cooling system and will change color in the event of increased CO2 content. The two-chamber design of the device (with a filter between the chambers) allows for the separation of residues in the first chamber (e.g.
coolant droplets). which could negatively affect the test result.
The reaction fluid may cause skin and eye irritation. If the fluid comes into contact with skin or eyes, rinse with plenty of water. Use safety glasses.
