How to Use: How to Use: Rainbow Henna can be applied to wet or dry hair, but make sure your hair is clean and free of hair spray, gel, or conditioner. To shampoo first, towel dry your hair before applying.Pour Rainbow Henna Powder into a glass or plastic bowl. Use enough to cover the area you wish to apply.*Do not use metal bowls or utensils*Bring 8 to 16 oz of liquid (water, coffee, tea) to a boil. Slowly pour in the liquid and mix thoroughly with a wooden or plastic spoon until it has a creamy yogurt-like consistency. If the mixture is too thick or thickens during application, you can add more liquid. You do not need to use all of the prepared liquid to achieve the correct texture. For gray hair, mix the powder with coffee or tea and add 1 to 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. *See below for detailed instructions to achieve the desired results. Please note.*Special tips and hints for covering gray hair to suit your personal taste: Coffee or tea (English Breakfast, Darjeeling, Ceylon): Reduces red tones, deepens brown-red tones or helps with gray/white hair. For coverage, use coffee/tea instead of water. We use black coffee, not instant coffee. You can also use a coffee substitute. Can be used with black, red and brown henna shades.Black tea (rooibos, raspberry leaf, red zinger): Enhances red tones and makes them more vibrant. Can be used with all henna shades.Chamomile Tea: Highlights and enhances golden blonde highlights. Can be used with Blonde, Marigold Blonde and Strawberry Blonde henna shades.Dry Hair: Add 1 egg and 2 to 4 tablespoons of olive oil or 2 to 4 tablespoons of plain yogurt to the henna mixture. Choose only one of several alternatives. Neutral or ‘clear’ henna is not tinted. The section should be about 1 inch in size. Once the henna mixture has reached a safe temperature (warm or hot), apply it to the scalp using a brush, applicator bottle, or your hands from root to tip. Continue applying until your hair is thickly coated with the henna mixture. Wear a cotton or tissue band around your hairline (optional). Secure the henna to the hair by wrapping it with a shower cap, plastic bag, or plastic wrap. Wrap the towel around your head like a turban and apply heat.TimeFor best results, use a salon-grade dome dryer, heat lamp, or heated cap.Time required: Black, Red, Sherry, Mahogany, Burgundy, Dark Brown, Medium Brown, Copper - heated for 45-60 minutes, unheated for 60-75 minutes. Strawberry Blonde, Blonde, Marigold Blonde, Light Brown, Neutral - 30-45 minutes heated, 45-60 minutes unheated. When time is up, rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and rinse again with cold water.
