Functional action:
Chondroitin sulfate consists of chains of repeating molecules called glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) and is a mucopolysaccharide. Chondroitin sulfate is a component of cartilage, providing structure, retaining water and nutrients. Chondroitin sulfate (CSA) is found in cartilage, tendons and ligaments, where it binds to proteins such as collagen and elastin. It affects strength, flexibility and shock absorption. Chondroitin sulfate improves phosphorus-calcium metabolism in cartilage tissue, inhibits enzymes that affect the structure and function of joints and slows down the process of cartilage degeneration. Chondroitin sulfate also stimulates the formation of hyaluronan, the synthesis of proteoglycans and type II collagen. Chondroitin sulfate reduces the damaging effects of free radicals; maintains the viscosity of synovial fluid, stimulates the cartilage repair mechanism and inhibits the activity of enzymes (elastase, hyaluronidase) that break down cartilage. In the treatment of osteoarthritis, it alleviates the symptoms of the disease and reduces the need for non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Current studies show that additional intake of CSA will help maintain proper joint function. Effective in degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the joints and spine: primary arthrosis, intervertebral osteochondrosis, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, periodontitis, bone fractures (to accelerate the formation of bone callus).
Application:
