Brand Introduction

Fjällräven was founded in 1970 in the small village of Övik, Sweden, by 14-year-old skier Ake Nordin. He wanted a backpack that allowed him to carry more gear comfortably, but the backpacks of that time were very uncomfortable. He decided to make his own backpack, crafting a wooden frame and attaching it to a pack with leather straps, creating his first trekking backpack. Upon joining the military, Ake realized the need for a backpack that could carry more gear and, at the age of 24, founded Fjällräven in 1960, starting the production of outdoor equipment and clothing.
