This new series of instructional tea ceremony books was published to reaffirm the Urasenke tea ceremony system. It is a 25-volume series, each categorized according to the stages of Urasenke tea ceremony. With newly taken photographs of all the tea ceremony steps and an easy-to-read, full-color layout, the books provide a detailed and meticulous introduction to the basics. Volume 6 focuses on the Kokodana shelf and covers the ro's thin tea ceremony, thick tea ceremony, first charcoal preparation, and later charcoal preparation. The chapter on shelf handling, in conjunction with the previously published Volume 5, introduces various shelves and explains how to use them.
