Description

The Satchur8 is a pickup designed by Dimarzio for guitar legend Joe Satriani, offering a warm and sweet singing lead tone with expressive attack. It features a wide dynamic range, allowing players to subtly vary picking nuances to match different playing situations and desired volume. To develop this pickup, a high-output Alnico 8 magnet was chosen to suit Joe's playing style, which requires a smooth midrange like butter, a deep and full-bodied bass range, and warm, singing solo tones. Additionally, the coil has been tuned to produce Joe's unique sound. The rich output of the Alnico 8 makes the Satchur8 a remarkably hot humbucking pickup. It delivers clarity unlike any other pickup, with excellent note separation, a smooth yet bright tone, and a strong presence for each note. It is a pickup that provides a distinctive and compelling sound.
