Starting with cowboy boots made in Utah in 1981, Merrell is recognized worldwide as "Outdoor Gear" that can handle any field, boasting products that balance function and performance, innovative style and original design at a high level. The concept that Merrell pursues in its products is to practice comfort and performance in two different fields: nature and big cities. Merrell's Air Cushion Midsole with excellent shock absorption Merrell's uniquely developed Air Cushion Midsole is designed to absorb strong impacts received by the heel and maintain stable walking. When pressure is applied to the heel, the air cushion compresses, absorbing impacts equivalent to up to four times your body weight. The cup-shaped design cradles the heel and sets it in the center, providing excellent comfort even during long walks. Because it's not a bag or capsule, there's no risk of bursting. The upper material boasts exceptional water repellency and quick-drying properties. It utilizes PITTARDS® WR100 material, a flagship product of Pittards, a British company. Each fiber is treated with a special water-repellent finish, designed to allow moisture to evaporate through tiny, invisible holes. This top-of-the-line material protects against rain, wind, and dust from the outside while allowing sweat to escape from inside the shoe, maintaining comfort. It's also highly resistant to dirt, and its texture can be maintained by brushing or wiping. The insole, Celldia, developed by Kuraray, offers superior antibacterial and deodorizing properties. It absorbs and eliminates unpleasant odors inside the shoe, and its antibacterial treatment keeps it clean for extended periods. The soft cushioning provides excellent shock absorption while walking. To maintain its antibacterial and deodorizing properties, it is best to store it in a bright place. US sizes (US notation) and Japanese sizes (JP notation) Brand Introduction In the 1970s, Randy Merrell, the founder of MERRELL, began making custom-made boots in Vernal, Utah. Having grown up surrounded by the outdoors, his boots became famous throughout the United States, and in 1981, they were selected as "the most functional and comfortable shoes in North America" by Backpacker Magazine. Two outdoor enthusiasts who came across this article invited Randy Merrell to join them, and they established a new company for boots, MERRELL. They improved the production process and, while maintaining the appeal of "feet that don't tire even after wearing them for a long time," they successively developed outdoor shoes. In 1998, they released the "Jungle Moc," which became a hugely popular classic model. This marked the beginning of MERRELL's expansion beyond outdoor sports to mountains, cities, and all kinds of outdoor spaces. Furthermore, the "Chameleon" series was launched in 2001, and five years later, cumulative sales worldwide surpassed 10 million pairs. Since then, the brand has developed a diverse range of lines loved by a wide range of users, from trekkers to outdoor festival enthusiasts, and is currently sold in 135 countries worldwide, with annual sales exceeding 16 million pairs.
